    Restoration

Restoration started with finding the car and transporting it back to the Bay Area.
The paint had faded to a pale beige and cream white.
We first had to fix up the engine to get it running, then fix the many rust spots,
    especially the floorboards.

This is how "Betty" looked when we first bought her.
Lots of rust, dirt, and worn out panels.

Next we started taking apart and sanding for the paint job.
The sanding and preparation for the painting was the most difficult task.
This stage took about a years' worth of weekends.
During this time it was stored at a friends' house.

The upholstery was really bad too.
Getting the stripped car back from the paint shop was a milestone.
Then we started putting her back together: early 2003.

Many parts were painted separately and had to be re-assembled.
Friends Jae and Don, and family helped me through it all.
Willies Cars in Campbell, California, did the detailing: Yay!
